    million man-hours in our industrial technical centers

    A mid-life renovation project

    After twenty years of service, the trains undergo a so-called "mid-life" operation to be dismantled, renovated and modernized.
    The aim: to be able to operate them again for another twenty years or so, in almost new condition, with the same level of comfort and reliability.

    The aim is to improve the energy consumption of the renovated trains, with a view to protecting the environment and ensuring the durability of the equipment.

    Up to 55 trainsets are simultaneously immobilized in our industrial technical centers during mid-life refurbishment operations.

    In addition to these refurbishments, the Régions can take advantage of the opportunity to request other adjustments to their trainsets:

    • improving aesthetics and passenger comfort (changing seats, lighting, regulating air conditioning, adding waste sorting garbage cans, etc.);
    • reorganization of interior spaces to allow more space or better accessibility (UFR zones, areas dedicated to bicycle transport, etc.);
    • the installation of electrical outlets on seats, Wi-Fi, or the integration of an on-board passenger information system.
