    A new 5-star rail network

    Based on the findings of a survey of customers, elected representatives and local associations, SNCF Voyageurs has reorganized all TER timetables and services in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The five-star network has been redesigned to optimize train positioning and service density. As a result, traffic has become more regular and robust.

    "Optim'TER means more and better trains.

    Three service levels

    Optim'TER is a mobility offer adapted to meet the specific needs of passengers in each region:

    • Direct'R between the region's major cities;
    • Facilt'R, for frequent connections between the heart of the conurbation and its outlying towns;
    • Liné'R, for local service to more rural areas.

    increase in supply in 4 years at constant operating costs

    With four stars in service between 2019 and 2023, Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, is delighted with these results, which he attributes to two major reasons: a strong desire on the part of citizens to favor the train, and the quality of the rail offer produced by SNCF Voyageurs thanks to Optim'TER.

    The entry into service of the 5th and final batch in 2024 marked the realization of this project.
