The direct link to Italy is back

On March 31, 2025, the TGV INOUI direct service between France and Italy resumed. Take the opportunity to re(discover) Italy.

Due to a rockfall in August 2023, the railroad line between Paris and Milan was closed between Saint Michel Valloire and Modane.

The resumption of traffic took place in the presence of Christophe Fanichet, Chairman and CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, at Paris Lyon station and on board the 9:47 train.

An alternative offer for travellers

Following the landslide in the Maurienne valley on August 27, 2023, SNCF Voyageurs was the only operator to maintain the rail link between France and Italy thanks to a substitution service set up between January 10, 2024 and March 30, 2025.

208,000 passengers used the SNCF Voyages Italia replacement offer.

Italy accessible by train for all

Since December 13, 2024, TGV INOUI has offered a wide range of fares to enable as many passengers as possible to travel to Turin and Milan.
