Travel in Île-de-France
3.4 million passengers use our lines every weekday, and 6,000 trains serve the Île-de-France region every day. We operate for Île-de-France Mobilités, our Île-de-France transport organizing authority, on the 2nd busiest Mass Transit rail network in the world after Tokyo's.
Mass Transit refers to a public transport system that involves millions of passengers moving around on a daily basis thanks to thousands of trains, metros, tram-trains, streetcars or buses running at very high frequency, over a limited, densely populated geographical area.
Key figures
- 3.4 million passengers / day or 70% of SNCF customers who travel on 2% of the territory and 10% of the French rail network (3,700 km)
- 390 stations in Île-de-France including more than 200 stations made accessible by 2024
- 55 km of new lines for the extension of line E to the west and 3 new stations
- 28 Transilien stations connected to the Grand Paris Express network
At the same time, we're working on the development of a new rail network that will be accessible to all.

There's no shortage of services to help you out
We offer passengers a range of services to make everyday train travel easier.
Our agents are at your disposal in stations and remotely call terminals in stations, toll-free number 36 58 and on the website.
You can also follow Voyageurs information in Île-de-France on the SNCF Connect app and on Transilien.com . On the transilien.com website, you'll find real-time on-board train times, a digital works calendar and pedestrian guidance to replacement buses.
.Mobility for all
In conjunction with our organizing authority, we have developed a number of measures to facilitate train access for all. For example, people with a disability card equal to or greater than 80% or in a wheelchair can book a free assistance service, Accès Plus Transilien, to reach all stations operated by Transilien in the Île-de-France region. This system also enables all passengers with reduced mobility to access information on station accessibility, such as the operating status of elevators and all station equipment promoting mobility (audible beacons, ...).
In 2022, all our lines - trains, RER, T4 and T11 tram-trains - have been awarded Cap'Handéo certification for the quality of service they provide.
A range of price offers
Île-de-France Mobilités offers a comprehensive range of season tickets and single-ticket purchases, depending on whether you're a regular, occasional or tourist traveler on the lines operated by Transilien. You can also benefit from special fares (for young people, senior citizens, job-seekers, etc.)
Station sales points are at your disposal, as are automatic ticket vending machines. You can also buy your ticket in dematerialized form from your smartphone.

Our CSR commitments rooted in the Île-de-France region
We have formalized our environmental and societal commitments in a manifesto that focuses on two key areas: making the Île-de-France breathe, and Better living and getting around together.
Making Île-de-France breathe:
By providing a territorial network throughout Île-de-France, Transilien ensures an alternative to the car and thus contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions in Île-de-France.
Better living and getting around together: civic-mindedness, accessibility, inclusion, employment
Through interventions in schools, from primary to high school, Transilien raises awareness of transport safety and citizenship among 50,000 pupils on average each year. Within the region, we contribute to 13,000 direct jobs and 20,000 indirect jobs, in particular through numerous integration workshops.
