    Tailor-made rates

    • Your pet travels in a container

      It travels in a closed bag or basket (45 cm x 30 cm x 25 cm maximum), placed on your lap or at your feet, and costs €7¹ to transport.

    • Your dog travels on a leash

      It must be muzzled throughout the journey, and transportation also costs €7¹. He travels at your feet.

    • Guide or assistance dog

      Guide dogs and assistance dogs travel free of charge and without a ticket on all our trains.

    A few rules to keep in mind

    • Your responsibility

    Your pet is accompanied and remains your responsibility throughout the journey.You travel with all the necessary identification documents.

    • Tacit agreement

    Dogs (except guide dogs and assistance dogs), cats and other pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.) are admitted with the agreement of other passengers.

    • On coaches

    Only guide or assistance dogs are allowed on board replacement coaches. No other animals are allowed.

    Details

    • Make sure it is well ventilated and that your pet has enough room to turn around.
    • Ask your vet for a suitable sedative if your pet is fearful.
    • Label the container with your pet's name, tattoo number, your name, telephone number and destination address.
    • Make sure the container is securely closed (your pet must not be able to get out on its own).

    On INTERCITÉS night trains, pets are allowed in the car seats for €19 per pet.

    However, they are not allowed in sleeper compartments, unless you have a reservation for an entire compartment called "espace privatif" (in which case the pet fee is €0).

    Don't forget your documents

    When traveling abroad with your dog or cat2, make sure your pet can accompany you.

    In some countries, your pet must

    • be identified by a microchip;
    • be vaccinated against rabies;
    • have a European passport supplied and completed by a veterinarian;
    • have an up-to-date health record.

    And in Europe?

    Some European countries have a different policy: find out more before you go.

    In all cases:

    • Your pet must be identified in accordance with European standard EC Reg. No. 998/2003, and you must carry a vaccination certificate.
    • Small pets must travel in a container no larger than 45 x 30 x 25 cm. Their weight must not exceed 10 kg.
    • Leashed dogs must be muzzled.
    • Only one animal is allowed per passenger.

    Prices vary from country to country.

    For travel to Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium (Brussels):

    • You must pay €7 for a small pet traveling in a container.
    • You must pay €20 for a dog on a leash.

    For TGV INOUI to Luxembourg and TGV INOUI to Freiburg im Breisgau, a single fare applies, whatever the animal: 7€.

    1/ Fare applicable from June 23, 2022 to a dog on a leash or an animal in a container for each journey made on a TGV INOUI, INTERCITÉS, and TER connecting train (excluding trains from regions with fare freedom: Normandie, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Pays-de-la-Loire and Région Sud). For travel from 10/01/2024 on INTERCITÉS night trains, the fare will be €19 for seats, forbidden in couchettes and free in private areas.
