Priorities and discounts
Depending on your situation, you can benefit from priority queuing and special rates on SNCF Voyageurs journeys.
These fares vary according to the information on your French disability card or mobility-inclusion card.
Please note that foreign disability cards are not accepted in France and do not entitle you to the disabled guide fare on our trains.
Your priority access
You have priority in queues and for seating if you hold :
- an 80% or more disability card ;
- a "mobilité inclusion invalidité" card;
- a "mobilité inclusion priorité" card;
- a "station debout pénible" or "priorité pour personne handicapée" card;
- a family priority card.
Both at stations and on board our trains, don't hesitate to inform other passengers of your status, so that you can benefit from this priority.
Priority seating and guide/assistance dog seating
Are you a person with a disability or reduced mobility looking for a comfortable seat adapted to your specific needs or those of your guide or assistance dog?
Priority seating is available for you on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS trains with compulsory reservations. These seats are subject to availability.
Discounts applicable in France (excluding Île-de-France)
Are you disabled?
Would you like your companion to benefit from a special fare?
If you're disabled, you'll need a French "carte mobilité inclusion" (CMI) or a French "carte d'invalidité" (disability card).
Please note that these special fares depend on what is written on your "mobilité inclusion" card. For example, your companion can benefit from a 50% reduction on the full leisure fare if :
- Your "mobilité inclusion invalidité" card does not have a mention.
- Your 80% or more disability card is not marked or is marked "canne blanche" ("white cane").
Alternatively, if your "mobilité inclusion invalidité" card or your disability card bears one of the following endorsements, your companion travels free of charge (with the exception of a €3 or €10 booking fee, depending on the period of travel):
- "Need for accompaniment" or "Need for accompaniment blindness";
- "Third person", "blindness" and/or "green star".
Are you a disabled person or war pensioner?
To benefit from our discount, you must have a card reserved for people who have been discharged from the army or war pensioners. How do I apply for this card? Contact your local veterans' and war victims' office.
Reductions vary according to your situation:
- Disability card with one red bar corresponding to a degree of disability greater than or equal to 50%: 75% reduction for the cardholder.
- Disability card with two red bars corresponding to a degree of disability greater than 85%: cardholder and guide receive a 75% discount.
- Disability card with one blue bar corresponding to a degree of disability between 25% and 45%: 50% discount for the cardholder.
- Disability card with two blue bars corresponding to a degree of disability of 100%: 75% discount for the cardholder and free travel for the guide (with the exception of the reservation fee).
Are you accompanying a wheelchair user?
On TGV INOUI trains and subject to availability, passengers in wheelchairs are systematically placed in1st class in adapted spaces, while benefiting from a 2nd class fare. This also applies to the wheelchair passenger's first companion.
The other accompanying persons, up to a maximum of 3 people, can benefit from a reduced UFR ACCOMPANIERS fare with a 30% reduction on the1st class LOISIR fare.
For journeys from 10/01/2024 onwards, on daytime INTERCITÉS trains, you can also benefit from a 30% reduction on the Fare Loisir du Jour in 2nd class, as the wheelchair user's seat is in 2nd class.
Please note that you can benefit from this reduction even if the disabled person you are accompanying uses a wheelchair only occasionally (ill, injured, temporarily unable to walk, etc.) and does not hold a disability card or mobility-inclusion card recognized in France.
Two conditions must nevertheless be taken into account:
- Only a maximum of 3 passengers accompanying a disabled person in a wheelchair can benefit from this reduction.
- All accompanying persons and the disabled person must reserve their seats at the same time and travel together on the same route. They are placed in the same car whenever possible.
Our special conditions
Please note that :
- Your companion is not entitled to a discount if you have a Mobilité Inclusion Priorité card or a former priority card: "disabled person priority" card or "awkward standing" card.
- Your companion must be at least 12 years old.
- Two disability card holders may not accompany each other.

For international travel, please contact the companies concerned directly.
Finally, in accordance with the law of February 11, 2005, you are not obliged to muzzle your guide or assistance dog, if you have the necessary documents to prove its training.
Sleeper trains
To help you settle into your berth, remember to specify when booking that you want a lower berth close to the car entrance. To date, night trains do not offer a good level of accessibility and are not recommended for wheelchair users.
Please observe the following rules to ensure your personal hygiene and comfort:
- In couchettes, you can only travel with your guide or assistance dog with the agreement of the other passengers.
- Do your compartment neighbors refuse to allow your guide or assistance dog? The staff accompanying you will do their utmost to find a satisfactory solution.
