Your bike on board

Whichever train you take, there are three options, subject to availability:
- Travel with your bike1 unassembled and stored in the dedicated spaces on board our trains.
- Travel with your folding bike, if it is folded and measures no more than 90 x 130 x 50 cm when folded.
- Travel with your bike disassembled, provided that it is transported in a special bag and that the bag measures a maximum of 90 x 130 x 50 cm.
By Transilien
Travel free of charge in Île-de-France with your bike2:
- Monday to Friday before 6:30 am, between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm and after 7:30 pm
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
- no matter the time of day or day of the week, you can't take your bike on the train if it's very busy.
- tip: opt for a folding bike and travel without restrictions and without disturbing other passengers.
On board a TER train
On most TER trains, your bike travels free of charge, suspended or placed in a special space. These spaces are accessible subject to availability, often without reservation. However, there are exceptions in certain regions, with their own reservation procedures.
Your TGV INOUI journey
You are traveling with an unfolded, unassembled bicycle.
- You must reserve a space for your bike when you buy your train ticket. The cost is €10 per bike and per journey.
- Your bike must then be stored in a dedicated space, and you will be allocated a seat close to your bike.
- Reservations for your bike must be made when you buy your train ticket. For this reason, cyclists cannot travel with non-cyclists. To travel with non-cyclists, separate reservations are required.
- If your search does not return any results, it means that the TGV INOUI equipment has no dedicated space or no space left. The disassembled bike solution is always possible, free of charge and without reservation.
Travelling with a folded or dismantled bike
- Your folded bike can travel with you as luggage, provided it measures no more than 90 x 130 x 50 cm when folded.
- Your disassembled bike in a labeled bag with maximum dimensions of 90 x 130 x 50 cm can also travel with you as luggage. Your bike must be dismantled before accessing the platform, stored completely in its transport bag and placed in the baggage area on board TGV INOUI trains.
Not all bicycles are accepted on board: recumbents, tricycles, cargo bikes, longtails, trailers and bicycles in cardboard boxes are not allowed.
Your INTERCITÉS trip
Reserve your bike space for just €10:
- on daytime INTERCITÉS trains with no reservation required4,
- on daytime INTERCITÉS trains with compulsory reservation,
- on night-time INTERCITÉS trains5.
Failure to comply with the baggage policy on board TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS trains may result in the payment of a minimum of €50 per item of non-conforming or excess baggage (maximum €150).
Your OUIGO journey
On board OUIGO Grande Vitesse trains, you will be charged €5 for your folding or demountable bike, stored in a bag.
On OUIGO Train Classique trains, you can choose between :
- the unassembled bike option at €10
- the folding or collapsible bike option at €5
Your trip to Europe
You can either fold your bike and transport it in a bag, or use our check-in service on the day of departure, or reserve a bike space on the train.
You can take your bike with you free of charge, dismantled and stored in a bag, or reserve a space with the Train + Vélo service.
1 Only standard bicycles are accepted on board trains. Recumbent bicycles, tricycles, tandems, cargo and longtail bicycles and trailers of any kind may not be transported.
2 Subject to availability. Please also note that your bicycle is accepted on board Transilien buses (including Noctilien) equipped with a luggage compartment.
3 Price incl. VAT, per person, for a dismantled and/or folded bicycle, one-way, direct journey and without connection, on board TGV INOUI trains, INTERCITÉS day trains with compulsory reservation and INTERCITÉS night trains. Free of charge for a dismantled bike on daytime InterCITÉS trains without compulsory reservation, and on TER trains subject to availability. Exchange and refund conditions subject to the same conditions as your train ticket. Online payment required, with free ticket sent to home, pick-up at self-service kiosks, e-ticket confirmation or printed ticket. Offer cannot be combined with any other SNCF promotion or reduced fare.
4 Travel free of charge with your bike on daytime INTERCITÉS trains, which do not require a reservation, except on the Nantes-Lyon and Nantes-Bordeaux lines, where a bike space must be reserved (€5).
5 On night trains, a space is provided for transporting bicycles. Reservation of this space is compulsory and must be made at the same time as ticket purchase.
