This is not possible: the ticket is nominative, personal and therefore non-transferable. The name attached to the ticket cannot be changed.

Alongside other rail operators in Europe, we are participating in solidarity with refugees from Ukraine, enabling people fleeing the conflict to travel free of charge on SNCF trains in France and to European border destinations.

When you arrive at the station, you must go to a ticket office. Here are the documents you need to obtain a free train ticket:

    • a passport or identity card issued by Ukraine
    • a HELP Ukraine ticket from Deutsche Bahn
    • a valid Ukrainian residence permit for non-Ukrainians fleeing the conflict
    • a Ukrainian foreign resident card for Ukraine

If a train has become unavailable for booking, this means that it is fully booked or that certain fares (e.g. "Carte Avantage Adulte") are no longer available. We invite you to consult other departure times, and to keep an eye out for any vacancies on the desired train by subscribing to the alerts offered by your travel agent.

You can pay for your train tickets directly online with dematerialized Chèques-Vacances.

Go back to your travel agent's website and enter your booking details. You can also contact their order tracking service.

To purchase via an SNCF Voyageurs channel, call 36 35 (price of a local call) or go directly to a store or agency.

After purchasing your passenger ticket, you can still buy a ticket for your pet:

    • at an SNCF ticket office
    • by calling 36 35 and saying "billets" (toll-free 7 days a week), indicating your travel dates.

However, it is not possible to make this reservation online or at a self-service terminal if you have already bought your ticket.

You can then collect your pet's ticket:

    • at an SNCF ticket office
    • at a self-service terminal

Travel conditions vary according to the weight and size of your pet.

Check "accompanying Carte Avantage Adulte" in the second passenger's profile.

The VAT rate applicable to tickets is 10%.

VAT on transport is not deductible.

If you travel with TER with a physical ticket, you can board a full train, overbooked, but without a guaranteed seat. Overbooking is not possible on TGV INOUI and OUIGO trains.

If you travel with TER with an e-ticket, you can only board the train you have reserved.

When traveling with TGV INOUI, only certain business fares allow you to board a complete train, subject to a ticket exchange. However, this exchange does not guarantee you a seat.

If you travel with INTERCITÉS you can only board the train you have booked. A few special features:

    • On the Nantes Bordeaux, Nantes Lyon and Toulouse Bayonne/Hendaye lines, the e-ticket valid for 1 day allows you to take another INTERCITÉS train on the same day of travel and on the same route as the train indicated on the e-ticket, without a seat guarantee.
    • On the Paris Limoges Toulouse, Paris Clermont-Ferrand and Bordeaux Toulouse/Marseille lines, certain business fares allow you to board a full train subject to a ticket exchange. This exchange does not guarantee a seat.

To print out a proof of purchase, go to the location (station, store, authorized agency) or online space (application, online travel agency) you chose when you purchased your ticket.

A proof of purchase is a document certifying that you have actually made a journey. It can be used for all kinds of official purposes (to justify a trip to an employer, an accounting department, the tax authorities, etc.). Please note, however, that the receipt does not include VAT, as rail and road transport services are not subject to VAT.

The conditions for obtaining a purchase receipt for your domestic and international travel also depend on the different carriers.

Depending on the travel agency, you can specify the car and seat you want. The reservation system will try to place you according to your wishes.

You can also contact an advisor on 36 35 (toll-free, 7 days a week).

The SNCF Voyageurs invoice is unavailable.

You have the possibility to dematerialize your commercial card.

When searching for a train journey, on the very first page, you need to define your profile, then on the right, in the various fields to be filled in (age range, season ticket, loyalty...) you'll find "ADVANTAGE CODE / PURCHASE VOUCHER".

Copy and paste your digital voucher code into this section. Start the search, and a message will appear in a small box telling you that the amount will be deducted from the final payment.

Please note that digital vouchers are cumulative.

When booking your TER tickets, you may already have noticed that your Carte Liberté or your Carte Avantage, whether Youth, Adult or Senior, are not always valid.

The discounts to which your national card entitles you do not apply in all regions. Each region has created its own cards, other than our Carte Avantage and Carte Liberté, to enable you to travel all year round at a lower cost. You can visit your region's website to find out about the different cards and choose the one that best suits your needs.
